About Bernhardt’s Farm
The Bernhardt's moved to their family homestead in Elgin in 2007 to care for Alex’s 88‑year‑old father, and started gardening for fun.
While Alex was earning his business degree at Concordia, that hobby kept growing and growing—until it became a full‑blown passion. After graduating in 2011, Alex decided to farm full-time and built a licensed commercial kitchen on the property, turning what they grew into sorbet, pickles, jam, salsa, sauces, pesto, and prepared entrées.
Today, they farm 13 acres of chemical- and pesticide-free produce, and are committed to using everything they grow and operating a zero‑waste farm. You can find Alex Bernhardt selling at the Bell and Mueller Farmers Markets in Austin every weekend, and text him at 512-791-8404 by Thursday for pre-orders.
