Steph Scherzer is the founder of Farmhouse Delivery and the kind of visionary who turns backyard dreams into organizational change.
In 2001, Steph bought a trashed-out plot in East Austin, cleared it out (with the help of some goats), and built Rain Lily, one of the city’s first urban farms. As she grew food for herself and her neighbors, she kept running into a frustrating truth: it was easier to buy bananas from thousands of miles away than a cucumber grown down the road. That realization lit a fire. In 2009, Steph launched Farmhouse Delivery to flip the script—bringing the freshest Texas produce straight to people’s doors and building a local retail distribution system for farmers.
